Tonight the Olympics kick off with the traditional Opening Ceremony. There will be the usual display of fireworks! Dancing! People dressed as animals! And the international parade that every country going for a gold medal this year will participate in. We are very excited, so we’ve come up with fourteen reasons that you should be very excited too. Happy Olympics!
1. To see the giant blowup of St. Basil’s Cathedral, because COLORS and who doesn’t love a bouncy castle?
2.Because the German uniforms look like a super tasty Popsicle:
3. To see the creepy Olympic mascots—the Leopard, the Polar Bear, and the Hare—in the CGI-looking flesh (through our TVS):
4. Because the countries proceed in alphabetical order, but in this year’s ceremony, Zimbabwe goes before Chile because the RUSSIAN ALPHABET IS CRAZY.
