Addis Ababa, Jun 7 (Prensa Latina) Ethiopia”s President, Sahle-Work Zewde, will attend as guest of honor at the opening FIFA Women”s Soccer World Cup to be held in Paris ths Friday.
Zewde and her official delegation arrived in France on Thursday to participate in the Women Deliver 2019 World Conference held from June 3 to 6.

According to a statement from Zewde´s Office, the President will deliver a keynote speech at the opening ceremony, to highlight women’s involvement in economic and political processes, and condemn cultural and social challenges they must face up with around the world.

Nigeria, South Africa and Cameroon have the opportunity to participate in the World Cup on behalf of Africa, after winning the 2018 African Cup of Nations. There are also three women who will be deeply involved in the sports event serving as referees (among 27), including the 38-year-old Ethiopian Lydia Tafesse.

On Friday the outstanding sports tournament will open with France-South Korea match at the Parc des Princes, in which teams as the United States (recent champion), Germany, Brazil, Japan and England have the best chances of winning the tournament, according to experts.
